Dealing with the unexpected

It’s only Wednesday as I write this and already it’s been a heck of week. Why write on Wednesday for what I normally publish on Friday? Because something happened deep within the bowels of my internet provider that is blocking all of it’s customers (and there are a lot) from accessing any of my websites including my own ability to write or edit so… I’m sitting here at my sister’s trying to get a few days worth of content in until they can fix the problem. I’ve done what I can do in terms of sitting on hold and diligently going back and forth between the web hosting company and the internet provider so now I just have to be patient although I’ll be calling back on Friday if I haven’t heard back. It’s okay, these things happen and at least it doesn’t involve any doctor’s visits. I wouldn’t be so calm if it hadn’t occurred to me that if I wasn’t a customer, this problem would have persisted for who knows how long with those affected thinking I’d taken down my sites and gone away. In this case the only way to fix the problem was to be a part of it, so from that perspective I’m grateful.
On the other hand I got my first breadbaking request today – it will be a free one for the opening special I’m offering but who cares? It’s a start and everything has to start somewhere. And I’ve also faced into something which I’ve been avoiding for at least ten years which is sitting down with my 401k’s and a financial planner and starting to make a real effort on understanding how to manage my money well as opposed to just checking to see that most if it is still there. Hopefully I can keep up this new trend. I’ve also gotten my first etsy shop up and running although only three items listed so far (at least I can get to that site!)
